Respite Services
Most adults and children with disabilities reside with their families. The Orchard Village In-Home Respite Care Program was created to support these living arrangements. We offer respite for parents, siblings and caregivers, providing them a much-needed opportunity to relax, recharge and attend to their other obligations. Staff members that are matched with specific families make regular visits to provide support, instruction, and quality care that best meets the needs of the family. Respite staff also initiates social/recreational activities and individualized training in academics and living skills for the person with the disability.
Orchard Village Respite staff endeavors to support the person with special needs and his or her family in achieving as many of the 21 Outcomes as possible by providing direct services and linking the family to community resources. This takes dedicated and knowledgeable staff members who, in the words of one respite client, “truly become part of our family.”
